Celebrating 20 years with Catherine

Recently we celebrated our practice manager Catherine being with us 20 years here at Nicholls Optometrists in Browns Bay. Catherine is the friendly face that greets you as you walk in the door, and over the years she has helped countless customers choose the perfect frame, or has organised an emergency repair to a well-loved pair of old glasses.

As an independently run optometrist we do not have business managers who impose sales targets. Our focus is to care for the optical needs of our customers, even if it just giving friendly advice. “A happy customer will always return” she says, and this has proven to be true many times over the years.
Catherine is proud to be a South Islander; she says she was born in Oamaru “a very long time ago.” After taking up skiing, she married her ski instructor and moved to Canada. She lived there for the next 17 years, and her two children were born there. You may recognise the accent of our dispenser Sasha, who is Catherine’s daughter.
Catherine will always welcome you in to browse the many hundreds of optical frames on display and if by slim chance we do not have what you are looking for she will call our suppliers to extend the search.  “Face shapes are only part of the puzzle to finding the perfect frame” she says. Finding that frame with the “wow” factor is the goal. When choosing a frame it is also vital to know what doesn’t look good, and Catherine is well known for her honesty in this area.
If you want to find that perfect frame that looks and feels good, pop into see Catherine at Nicholls Optometrists in Browns Bay. She makes choosing the perfect glasses enjoyable.
