Whether for therapeutic, remedial or preventative reasons, massage is of great benefit for creating healthier, happier and well adjusted dogs.
Massage helps to relieve pain and discomfort, and provide a better range of movement to dogs that suffer from arthritis, hip dysplasia and muscle stiffness from over exertion. It can also speed up the recovery after surgery when your dog needs some extra pain relief and rehabilitation.
The benefits of massage are not limited to obvious physical enhancement. Many common dog behaviour issues are due to stress and anxiety – massage is a fabulous way to help relieve stress and therefore assist in correcting related behaviour issues.
The added bonus of massage is that the benefit is not only for the receiver! You too will benefit from the hands on therapy. Massaging your pet has a wonderful flow on effect for you by lowering blood pressure, decreasing stress levels and lifting your general mood.
All members of the family who participate in massaging their pet, benefit as it encourages kindness, human attitudes and fosters trust between person and pet.
