Indoor Facility Underway

Happy New Year from the team at AMI Netball North Harbour. 2011 is shaping up to be a very exciting and industrious year for Netball.
The construction of our fantastic new indoor facility is now underway.
We have eagerly waited for this moment…. And after several years of discussions, planning, a lengthy consent procedure and very comprehensive fundraising campaign things are finally happening. I never thought I would be excited to see big machines ripping up our netball courts – but yes - work has begun and we now have an end date in sight.
If all goes according to plan and the weather is kind to us then we hope to be completed at the end of June this year.
For the first time ever! Netball North Harbour has recently completed a School Holiday programme during the January holidays. This is a highly successful Holiday programme run for both girls and boys with an added advantage of full day options for those parents who have difficulty finding full time care. We opted for a multi-sports programme, with lots of fun activities and ball skills across a multitude of sports. We will be offering School Holiday programmes throughout 2011. Our fantastic social competitions are starting up again in February. Ladies Twilight netball will continue on a Wednesday night with the first six week block starting 9th February. Ladies Day will re-commence on Wednesday 16th February at 10am, this is also a social competition and we have child minding on site for a limited number. It would be great to see some new faces and teams here at the centre participating in this fun morning.
On Friday 18th February we are launching a brand new competition, Business House. We will be playing VBall in this competition. This is a five a side version of the game. There are five players on court at one time; two attackers, two defenders and one centre, you can get additional points for a shot at goal from outside the circle and there are continual rolling substitutions throughout the course of the game. This game suits both women and men and is fast and furious.

VBall is great for pre-season fitness and agility across all sporting codes. Mixed teams are encouraged and men really enjoy playing this version of the game. We will have bar facilities operating on a Friday night in our Players Lounge and encourage you to get a team together and come down and enjoy the social atmosphere.
