Corelli School: There Is No Substitute for Experience!
The Corelli School has had 84 different student performances in the last year!
There simply is no substitute for experience on stage, says Arts Director David Selfe. The recipe, for success in the performing arts, is doing more of it. Plays, concerts, recording, exhibitions and shows are what create a confident student and artist. Arts schools around the world are built on the premise of –‘ Build a child’s confidence on stage and all their academic work will improve’.
Recent graduate Alex Foster has just been performing at the Civic Theatre, Auckland, with the show ‘Anything Goes’. ‘I always wanted to be in the theatre and Corelli let me be myself, doing as much performing as I could manage. This was the best training ever’.
All are welcome to attend the weekly lunchtime concert, which happens every Friday in term time. Term 4 is the 28th of October to the 2nd of December. Starting at 12.30pm in the Jonmer Theatre, in the Corelli School 50 Anzac Rd, Browns Bay. It is different every week, with music, dance, drama and the visual arts all represented. Pop along, don’t be shy, no appointment is necessary.
