Student Takes First Prize in Abstract Auckland Photography Competition
Pinehurst Senior College, Year 13 student Paloma Harvey earned first place for her entry “Abstract Auckland” in the Chromajet Schools Photographic competition, held by Apix Photographic Supplies.
The competition titled “My Hometown” was open to all secondary schools with Paloma winning photographic paper for herself and Pinehurst School. Congratulations Paloma!
VICTORY FOR PINEHURST SCHOOL SENIOR DEBATERS
Pinehurst’s premier debaters, Ben Wedd, Emma Cavanagh and David Stuart, contested the inaugural inter-school debate at the East Coast Bays Rotary Club, convincingly defeating their Rangitoto opponents. The adjudicator named Ben Wedd ‘Best Speaker’ and adjudged Pinehurst the winners.
Pinehurst School Mid Bays 2011 Trophy Winners
A tightly conceded final after two rounds in the Boys’ division Pinehurst School and Murrays Bay found themselves on equal points going into their final game. Pinehurst played an outstanding game to win the final 2-1 and take home the Boys’ Trophy.
The overall schools trophy for Mid Bays Trophy was shared between Pinehurst School and Murray’s Bay with both boys teams ending on the same points and goal scored; the first time in fourteen years that the Overall Champions trophy has been shared.
