Champion Trampolinists

Three Westlake students Kiera Greenacre, Emma Adamson and Natasha Marriage competed at a trampolining competiton with great success.
Kiera came 1st in the Elite grade as did Emma who won the C grade, the team also placed 1st in the Teams Challenge. At the New Zealand Trampolining Nationals Kiera was 1st in the 13-14 Women’s Double Mini and 4th in the Junior Intermediate Women’s Trampoline.

Sailing success for Teau McKenzie
Recently Teau McKenzie, represented her home country of the Cook Islands at the Pacific Games held in New Caledonia. Teau, sailing in the women’s Laser Radial fleet gained a silver medal, closely chasing her fellow teammate Helema William for gold. Together the girls won the Gold medal for the Women’s Laser teams event, with their combined score.

Teau sails for Westlake Girls High School during the summer season in one of our 470 double handed boats.

Great Netball season

Westlake Girls High Schools largest sport netball recently completed the season with success for the following teams in the North Harbour Netball competition.
Westlake 1 – runners up – Collegiate Premiers
Westlake 10 – runners up – Collegiate 6
Year 9/1 – Winners – Junior 1
Year 9/3 – Winners – Junior 2
Year 9/8 – Runners up – Junior 4
Year 9/15 – Winners – Junior 6
Points Trophy – Year 9/1
Highest Number of Goals Scored in College Grades (39.6 goals per game/based over 5 games)

Sports Golf Day
- Thursday 17th November
The annual Westlake Girls High School Sports Golf Day will be held on Thursday 17th November at the Pupuke Golf Club.  
Now in its fourth year it is always a great day with this year’s event set to have the largest amount of competitors to date. Hole sponsorships are sold out with only limited team entries available.

Westlake Music Excellence Awards Dinner

Recently Westlake Girls and Boys High Schools Music Departments held their annual Music Excellence Awards Dinner at McHughs Restaurant.
This was a chance for the departments to recognise senior students within the departments for the outstanding commitment and successes achieved this year.

It has been another very successful year for Westlake Music. They continue to define Excellence in music having taken out two National Titles (Chamber Music and Choirs), the latter becoming the first school in the 23 year history of the competition to win the National Title three years in succession. They have taken out Gold awards in all four categories of the KBB Music Festival with the Westlake Big Band being named the Most Outstanding Big Band of the Festival.
