OPTOMETRY & EYEWEAR with Melissa Hay, Visique Milford

Optifog

Our monthly OPTOMETRY & EYEWEAR column is provided by Melissa Hay, the owner of Visique Milford Optometrists. Melissa studied optometry for five years at the Auckland University School of Medicine and completed a Bachelor of Optometry (with Honours). Her qualifications also allow her to test the eyesight of pilots (CCA Accred.) and to write prescriptions (Oc.Cert.Pharm.).

The New Year has brought new products to Visique Milford Optometrists. There is a new coating available on new lenses called Optifog. It’s incredibly clever and prevents your glasses from fogging over.
Fog is made up of lots of tiny water droplets, perfectly spread over the surface of your lenses – creating a uniform film of water. This causes distortion and loss of contrast to your vision.

Many people find this a problem in different circumstances, such as:

•    Opening the oven door
•    Moving from hot to cold environments
•    Welders wearing face shields
•    Wrap sunglasses fogging up
•    At work where precision and safety are a priority

The special anti-fog coating is activated by a weekly drop of a special cleaning solution for the lenses. This technologically advanced combination of lens and activator provides superior scratch, glare and dust protection in addition to the most durable anti-fog solution on the market.
Optifog has wide appeal and we’re sure that many people will enjoy the benefits of lasting fog-free vision during everyday life, or in specific activities from leisure and sport, to the workplace. And, the lenses come with a two year warranty!
We are offering a free upgrade for March 2012 to Optifog, so come in and talk to us about this exciting product.
